WebStreptococcus intermedius, Streptococcus constellatus and Streptococcus anginosus are members of the Anginosus group of streptococci (AGS) that colonize the oral cavity, upper respiratory, gastrointestinal and female genitourinary tracts (Whiley et al., 1992; Jacobs et al., 1995).
