Web29 Aug 2024 · I spent a couple of weeks digging around for parts kits and the only reasonably priced options I could find were either the Sarco or Rock Island kits. All the recent reviews (<2 years old) of the Sarco kits pointed to a mix of generic no name parts and rode hard surplus. I couldn't find any reviews of the RI kits that weren't 5-7 years old. You can use other slide stops though any and all of them may require minor fitting. If you're not in a hurry, RIA will send you a shipping label to return the pistol for repair. WebIts very common with 1911's that haven't been broken in since the feed ramp (the wall) hasn't been smoothed down by the rounds enough to let them smoothly go into battery. 1911s are notoriously bad at cycling rounds that aren't ball ammo, especially before breaking in. I'd put 500 rounds of fmj ball ammo through it first.

And those 40 round Mags are supposedly designed for Ball Ammo, so the ammo is not an issue. I hate to be the bearer of bad news but IMO the word PRO MAG is a key point.
